Date: 2025-06-01 Peasants of Purpose In the Board of heroes my mate, comrade in arms, hoader of everything, legacy keeper, collector of every rust and dust on the planet and true Gopher believer IanJ says: "Not able to create something yourself or have something already available that provides what you want means you are constantly making do with what is least shitty. You are just a consumer, however much you complain and whatever path/os you choose." That's true and it has also deeper meaning. Even if you are creator, builder, developer, inventor, maker you practically always use tools, ideas, thoughts, materials, technology of somebody else's. You may just find a new way how to mix things, glue ideas together. That left us question, how much energy should we waste on the world around us. How much our attention, thoughts should be towards all externality around us. Should we try to fix the world, godamn web browser or any random output of somebody else? We are mostly users, everyone. Peasants, beggars, idlers, pieces of nothing ;/ No matter if you invented a wheel or dildo. Life somehow just throwed you into state and environment where you did that senseless thing. What we can do then? We can choose our path. Of course, we will remain within the boundaries that life has set for us. Genetics, childhood, environment, people around and so on. Yet still what we can do is to choose our own, very specific path in this small playground life gave to us. With all its limitation, capabilities, opportunities and partial freedom we was gifted with. Life is the intelligence and if he gave us something, no matter what, there is a reason for that. It's better to accept it, than to fight. So to choose our own path, while limited overall, but very unique and enormous for just one piece of nothing, we can swim through life uniquely. What is then the path? Everything. Every little dirt we move is the path. We can selectively choose what we eat, what thoughts we will feed, which one we will starve to death. What kind of clothing we will wear, what tools, things we use, how we will arrange space around us. All those little or big things around us will give back some of their own qualities. They will feed something in us or starve to death something in us. We can decide. It usually starts with a small thing, which may looks not so important, but will grow. Possitive, negative? Who knows. Good or bad? Often hard to distinguish. Collector or cleaner? Soft of raw? Kind of harsh? Minimal or extensive? Simple or complex? Life wants both, otherwise they would not exist. And life is not bad. It's everything we have. We all are everything, include everything in us. One just activates and feeds green, other one blue or red. All are essential, otherwise they would not be present. Most of those essentials build in us are out of our control, out of our little limited freedom. We are how we are. There is some reason for that. If life gave us some path, some talents, some strengths we should maybe just try our best to master it. Instead of trying to fit in, be like everyone else around, be like it is written in current standards, current popular or accepted scripts and manuals. If you are born without legs, it would be misery to push hard to become a good runner. Maybe something else will fit better. How many "defects" every human has? Not just physical, but in head, genes or hardcoded during childhood? We should try hard to know ourself, not the world around us. That teaching nobody ever offered to us. That one which is maybe only crucial for us and only one that really matters. The moment we know ourself, our choices will be clear. Completely separated from paths of others, from standards, from the past. When I see that peasant IanJ walking on a different path than mine, see him on his dusty dirt road, what I really see is that he is heading towards the same destination as me. As any other peasant under the sun. When we reach our fate and destiny in terminus, then we can talk about our findings and how we often fucked up. Until then, we may disagree. I chose HHKB, what is color of your socks brave hero? Your direction doesn't need validation, it needs courage. When you walk your own path, every step becomes a declaration of who you are.
