Hero at the keyboard

My last few articles about personal computing and technology got a lot
of attention. It practically created an online storm. Millions, maybe
even less, hackers, IT gurus and advanced computer users reached me
out over Shitmail, XYZ, Transtodon. I had thousands of dumphone calls
and at least seven hundred twenty five what's up messages every day.

So ye my beloved followers, subscribers and likers, here we are, I am
writting this just for you. Special, time limited article available
just for all you, my rock fans. All of this is possible just because
of your subport. Fuck you.

What is the hero's real relationship with his broken, magically
working computer?

> Boot complete.
> No cloud. No sync. No bullshit.
> System online. Raw power.
> Minimal shell engaged.
> You are root. Act like it.

Your operating system is practically just some dust on top of one and
zero. The less it helps you, the more you own the result. The fewer
tools you have, the less you can blame. That's power. Your system
doesn't ask. It waits. Silent, sharp, deadly. Your system is a weapon.
You don't use it, you command it.

Anything that can open vi editor is enough. Everything else is bloat.
One tool, used brutally well. You don't stack tools, you master one.
You keep whole your project in your head, not in the RAM. RAM is for
browsers, not builders. Your desktop is your shell. Cache is a crutch.
You remember what matters.

Sync? You have scp. Dasboard? You read logs. Install? You extract.
The fewer the packages, the stronger the system. Comfort is a virus.
Bloat is its payload. Nothing runs unless you say so. 

You write your shit in a terminal, not banking details in an app
store. You never scale up, only striping down.
Source control is for people who want control. You're here for the
freedom. You don't upgrade, you purge. You don't multitask, you
finish.

Modern computing is noise. You are the signal. You don't need blinking
lights to prove you are alive. You have beating heart.

Coffee is fine, but only if it's cold and forgotten. Food? Eat later.
Or never. Hunger is clarity.
